Thanks for the Nudge to Keep Going with SBI!

by Donna

Elad, Your story inspired me when I was first deciding if SBI was right for me. It was... and is. Now you have inspired me again to keep going with my Web site. Thanks for the nudge!

I'm one of the SBIers who's not making any money yet, who has a limited amount of time for adding new content. And, I'm afraid, one of the ones that is, perhaps, afraid of the awesome power of SBI! to truly change my life.

I love my site and my concept. I love spending virtual time in the home of my dreams as I write about it. Soon my site will allow me to live there full time. But I get discouraged at my truly-tortoise pace and frequent lack of direction.

So your Canadian adventure inspired me once again. To keep going and not give up (don't quit, Lise!). To learn to monetize my site well (you can do it, Wendy). To keep my mind active and involved after I retire (love the gite, Claude). You've given me the boost I need to keep on keepin' on until I'm as free as you are today.

Thanks, Elad

Giddy Up!
by: Elad

Dear Donna,

You are very welcome for the "nudge". In Hebrew we often use the word "nudnik" (the dictionary defines it as a "bothersome person, a pest"). Well, I'm fine with being a "nudge-nik", as long as it'll help anyone who's a bit stuck with SBI! to keep on keepin' on.

I've never visited San Miguel de Allende (your site's theme), although I spent quite a while in Mexico (mainly in the Chiapas). Mexico is fascinating and I often find myself daydreaming on what it would have been like to be a conquistador, joining Hernando Cortez on his march to conquer the Aztecs.

Not that destroying such a fascinating empire has any positive side to it. But setting out to the unknown to discover a new world, every day seeing things you had never imagined even existed, dreaming of El Dorado and a river of gold - that's mind-boggling and something we just can't do any more in a world that has already been pretty much discovered.

Well... there's still the virtual world to be conquered, and with Site Build It!, you can even dream of a river of gold! (Without destroying any empires ;-)

I really enjoyed reading your 'About Me' page on your site. You sort of fall in love and want to visit San Miguel de Allende together with you. However, just as much, after reading your bio, I also wanted to get on my horse and go visit your current town - Chloride, AZ (pop. 400)... Sounds like a funky little place. If you're still around (and not in San Miguel de Allende) when I'm touring Arizona, I'll pop in... I'll come dressed as my alter-ego, Delbert, although I'm not sure he'll survive your real Wild West. Notice that my Delbert video is right above your Cowgirl video... :-)

Thanks again for your kind words and as the saying goes - keep on keepin' on! Or just... "Giddy-Up"!

Your Fellow SBI! Conquistador (and Nudgenik... :-)

P.S. There's a good chance that that river of gold flows right through San Miguel de Allende...
