Feeling Overwhelmed with SBI!

Elad Shalom, I am an Israeli (Cuban born) living in Miami and bumped into SBI! only 2 months ago. Since then I have been "shepping nachas" (that's Yiddish for “taking pride”) from your story. After all you are probably younger than my daughters Ronit living in Mevasseret and Anat in Massuot Yitzhak.

Can you spend a few minutes of "giving back" and look at my site. I have reached 22 pages so far and nobody better than you knows how overwhelmed I am at this point. But I keep writing content and more content. I do know a lot about the Caribbean Islands. I lived in Puerto Rico for many years, and traveled the area.

I would like to hear from you any comment, advice, suggestion. Anything that will help me continue in the right path. That will mean a lot to me even if your critique is harsh. I hope not. I am going to be in Israel the first half of June, my grandson Yair is getting married. Maybe we can meet over a cup of coffee in Aroma or elsewhere. I hope to hear from you. Thanks! Eddy

Who is Eddy?!
by: Elad

Hi Eddy,

It's always warms my heart to hear that our story plays a small part in inspiring others.

You know, Eddy, I get quite a few requests to review sites and I wish I could get to them all. But I just can't. Building and maintaining this site is my way of "giving it back".

However, the Caribbean islands have always intrigued me, and since I've got someone in the Islands "shepping nachas" from my story, I couldn't help but jump over to your site and see who you are. And since I was already there, I'll tell you one thing that I was really missing... YOU.

From the one question that you submitted here I know more about you than browsing through your entire site. And what made me want to click over and see your site, beside my interest in the Caribbean, was that it seems like you are a really nice guy. And when I reach your site, there's no Eddy. Just facts about the Islands.

What I'm trying to say is that there are a bunch of raw information sites about almost every topic. What makes a site special is when you take that raw information and give it your personal touch.

If you've been living in the Islands for over 40 years, Eddy, then you're an authority. You're not just someone looking to build a Website on a topic you know nothing about. And, in my opinion, seeing the Islands through Eddy's eyes and 40 years of experience would be much more intriguing than reading facts.

That's my 2 cents. I hope it helps. And if you're in the area, then sure, drop me a line. I spend lots of time at the cafes around my house and I love to meet fellow SBI!ers (if I'm not busy changing diapers or serving as chauffeur to one of my three little "bosses" ;-).

Congrats on the wedding!

Your "2 cents"...
by: Eddy

Elad,

I agree that I should make my site a little more personal. It's a matter of getting used to writing like that.

There is so much information about the Caribbean Islands and so much I know about them, that I can divide it in several sites.

Maybe this site will be big enough when I finish, If we ever finish.

I am doing what Ken says, keep writing content and more content and that helps me when I feel overwhelmed.

SBI is so immense and you get so much for the money that you need days of 30 hours to digest everything.

But I am using the old saying: One day at a time or in Hebrew Savlanut.

I just finished my 32nd page and this week I plan to reach at least 40.

All the best and looking forward to see you in Israel after June 1st.

Eddy

May the sun shine bright in both your lives and the fruits of the lions prosper. For you both unknowingly have brightened my life. And likely so to others – I am sure, Rusty Gulf of Mexico Okaloosa Island.
