Hi! I'm Elad and here I am with my three girls. Back in 2003 I wrote This Story describing how I left my day job and realized my dream of working from home and being a full-time father. Over the years, quite a few people have sent me letters telling me that my story had inspired them to do the same. That they too were fed up with the rat race and decided to pursue their own dream of working from home. When I set out to be my own boss, I never planned on inspiring anyone. I just wanted to free myself. But finding out time and again that my story is empowering others to do the same, well, that has become one of the most rewarding things for me. To such an extent that Your Letters have inspired me to build this site and share more of my dream stories. |
Living my dream of being a full-time Dad... |
The age of the Internet has made working from home accessible to everyone. Almost every other person I run into today dreams of working from home. Most often, the problem is that most people don’t know where to start.
Neither did I.
I named this site “My SBI! Adventure” because my dream of working from home was achieved with the help of a tool called “Site Build It!” (SBI!). Early on in my quest for “freedom”, I ran into SBI! and it has provided me with all the knowledge and tools to succeed. I consider the day I decided to give SBI! a shot as the day I set out on a life-changing adventure.
I now work from home on my Web sites, earn a substantial “passive” income, and have all the time in the world to pursue my many other dreams. You can see my dream list just below this short video...
The dreams I've listed below are just a small number of the many dreams I hope to realize. I keep a dream list and every time I think up a new dream or goal I add it to the list. I try to review my dream list as many times as I can (at least 2-3 times a week). It keeps me focused on where I'm going and what I hope to achieve.

In this section I share with you my personal story of how I jumped into the world of the Internet without any technical know-how and within six months dropped my day job and began earning thousands of dollars each month. I also share my insights into the world of working from home and take you on a few special journeys to meet others who are doing the same. |
The highlight and the original story that sparked this site is this special Adventure to Canada to meet the "father" of Site Build It!, Dr. Ken Evoy, and other people like myself who have chosen to change their lives with the help of SBI!.
I Dream to… Play Pro Soccer (at the age of 38!)
|
Being a soccer goalkeeper was my childhood dream, but like many other childhood dreams, it got lost somewhere along the way. Since I was 18 I didn’t participate in any sort of sports, let alone kick a ball. But in 2008, at the “tender” age of 38, I decided that it was time to give soccer another “shot”. I committed myself to a rigorous, self-imposed training camp and set out to realize my childhood dream of becoming a professional goalkeeper… Here’s what happened… |
I Dream to… Act on Stage
|
"The Wanderer" is the first (and only) stage show I ever wrote. It was back in 2003, when I was 33-years-old. With no previous acting experience, I began to perform across the country with “The Wanderer” and within less than a year, the show earned a spot at the "Kameri" National Theater. Now, years later, I've performed with “The Wanderer” over 400 times and apart from enriching my soul, it's earning me an extra income I never even hoped for. |
In this section (which I'm writing right now...) I plan to share with you my story of how I created the show from scratch and successfully marketed it via the Web without depending on any commission-cutting agents...
I Dream to… Travel around the World
|
I spent years on the road, toting a backpack and hitchhiking across the world. Now, with a family to take care of and a wife that dreams of a home, you could say that I’ve sort of settled down. But… because I work from home and I’m my own boss, I've managed to negotiate this "travel agreement" with my dear wife. We travel twice a year. Once a year we go for a month as a family. And once a year I go alone for two, maybe three weeks (depending on how good I bargained that year). My most recent trip was this Adventure to Canada... |
I Dream to… Play Classical Guitar
|
The truth is that I didn’t know much about the classical guitar until I was 34. Initially, I just wanted to learn a few chords so I could play a song or two for my girls. But fate had it that I’d run into Marcelo, a very special teacher who revealed to me the magic of the classical guitar. In this section (that'll be built very soon), I plan to introduce you to the “Maestro”, Marcelo, and play for you a few classical guitar pieces… |
I Dream to… Buy a House (Without taking a Mortgage!)
When I just got married, my father in law sat the newlywed couple down and said that he wanted to give us a nice sum of money to buy a house. He said that my parents could give the other half. I really appreciated his gesture, but refused. I told him that I don't want money from anyone. I want to make it on my own. And he chuckled and said that today it's way too difficult (I think he said "impossible) for a young couple to get anywhere without the parents' help. Well, I told him I wanted to give it a try. In Dec. 2009, when we move into our new house, and if there aren't any massive online earthquakes that will rock the "coolest" boat - we will be free and clear on the house. And I didn't take a dime from anyone! Now, the truth is I don't really care about having my own house and all that. I could live out of a backpack all my life. It's the challenge that gets me all revved up. And that very day when I sat with my father-in-law and heard the word "impossible" was the day I decided to prove to him and myself that impossible doesn't exist.
I Dream to… Become a Paramedic
As a child in the 70’s, I was captivated by a TV series called “Emergency!”. I don’t remember much from the show except that it made me want to be a Paramedic when I grew up. That didn’t happen. But over the years I’ve taken several CPR and First Aid courses. I believe that everyone must learn the very basic actions needed to save a life. I’m not ready just yet to commit to the two-year Paramedic training, but it’s high on my list…
I Dream to… Study Languages
I grew up in Los Angeles speaking English. At home we spoke Hebrew. When I was 24 I traveled across South America for a year and taught myself Spanish. Being able to speak with the locals in their native tongue opened up a whole new dimension and gave me a great deal of power. Then, when I settled down in Israel, I decided to learn the language of our neighbors - Arabic. Although I speak these four languages pretty well, I still hope to master them. And, I’d also like to learn French. I’ll be content with five languages.
Happy Dreaming!
